Quicken For Mac 2015 Review
Posted : admin On 10/13/2019'Quicken for Mac 2015' is not even basic: it is sub-standard, for all the reasons I and other reviewers and comment writers have set out in great detail. Mac personal finance software 'basic' includes 1. Multiple currency support, and 2. Ability to read and write native files between any same-branded products on Mac OS and Windows. Jan 13, 2016 Quicken 2016 for Mac, the application resulting from this mini-morphing over the years, is a solid tool for managing your personal finances that remains as.
I’ve been with Quicken sine 1995 but have finally and fully become fed up with Q. I want mac based (not cloud based) software and need to be able to port my data from Quicken. My needs are simple reports, and a checkbook type interface for tax purposes. I’ve narrowed my options to MoneyDance, as I understand that Banktivity is cloud based. And note that in concept, Quicken has been ‘subscription’ based since 2015 for the Mac version (and at least since 2007 for the Windows version). The main difference is that now it is officially marketed as such with automatic renewal as the default and the period has been reduced from up to 3 1/2 yrs in older versions to 12 to 27 months, depending on where you purchase it.

Quicken For Mac
- edited March 2017You can just copy the Quicken app from the Applications folder at the top level of your hard drive onto a thumb drive or other moveable media. Then copy from the thumb drive to the Applications folder on the 2nd computer. You will need to be logged in to an Admin account to modify the Applications folder.Quicken Mac Subscription; Quicken Mac user since the early 90s

I think I misunderstood your original question. I thought you were already running a copy of QM2015 on the first computer. Thanks for your reply! One option would be upgrade your OX 10.9 computer to 10.10 if possible. OS 10.10 will run QM2017.
Otherwise, if you don't already own a copy of QM2015, you will need to purchase it. One source: https://www.amazon.com/Quicken-Personal-Finance-Budgeting-Software/dp/B00MA5TSNI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&..
Keep in mind that you won't be able to move a data file back and forth between QM2015 and QM2017.Quicken Mac Subscription; Quicken Mac user since the early 90s - edited February 2017
Thank you, that's what I thought.Xquartz for mac. Thanks for your reply! Unfortunately I can't upgrade this other mac as it is a workstation running older software that won't work on latest versions of the OS.
So I will probably stay on 2017 on the 1st computer, ans use the Iphone app otherwise!
I am not surprise it might cause data exchange issues.
Thank you! - edited February 2017
There are 3 alternatives you can consider:Thanks for your reply! - If you have mobile devices (iOS or Android) and if all you want to sync is cash, bank, and credit card accounts, consider using Quicken Mobile on a mobile device (as you have mentioned). You can sync more than one mobile to the same data file located on one of your computers, as long as you use the same Intuit ID associated to the data file. Note that this is limited to sync 24 months plus new transactions.
- use remote access software (several free options, e.g. NoMachine and Teamviewer) to access Quicken on one computer from the other, or even mobile devices (see this great article for complete review of many options (most are free): http://machow2.com/rdp-for-mac/ ). If both are Macs, the built-in Mac OS X screen-sharing may work for you too. The advantage of these solutions is that you retain access to all the features of Quicken, unlike Quicken Mobile. The trade-off is that the host computer cannot really be used for anything else while using Quicken with these remote solutions.
- use VPN software, a little more complicated to set up but more versatile. You will need to research options for this.

Hi! I am using Quicken 10 for Windows 7 in a Mac Pro using Parallels 9. I have a serious problem with one of my QW files since all previous registered data has disappeared (show dates 00/00/1900). I can not open the back-up of today (Feb.23/2017). Don't know what to do. Thank you very much for any help on this regard. Thanks for your reply! Quilla, Please post your question as a new topic and tag it as a Quicken Windows question. This really isn't a Mac question since you are working in Parallels you are really working in Windows. About the only thing that a Mac expert could help you with would be to suggest that you might restore your entire Parallels virtual machine from a Time Machine or other backup. Thanks for your reply!
